Week 1
required topic (at least 200 words)
We have been reading, listening, speaking and writing about customs. Choose an event or day you remember very clearly. When you remember something strongly, it is because you have strong feelings about something that happened at that time. This will help you choose something suitable to write about. You need to use these ponits to help you.
Remember the day and tell the story of what happened.
As you tell the story, you will need to describe and explain what generally happens (the tradition)
Recall your thoughts and feelings about the events.
Identify what made this time so memorable for you. It may have been one particular thing that happened or it may have been how someone behaved.
When you have finished telling the story, look at what you have written and analyse it. These questions may help you do this:
Why did you think of feel this way?
Did you learn something about yourself, other people or your culture?
Do you like or dislike what you learnt?
What do you think about this custom?
Week 2
This week you need to write on two topics. You will need to write about 150 - 200 words for each one. There are some ideas or questions to help you think about what you can write.
Topic A
Write about the most unexciting thing in class this week.
You need to consider:
What is was
Why it was unexciting
How importat or useful it was.
If it was imortant or useful, how do you learn about it or practise it?
If it was not important or useful, why not?
Topic B
Write about a time when you didn't speak up but you wanted to.
Describe the situation
write down what you wanted to say
Identify why you didn't say it
Identify the outcome. These could be positive or negative consequences
What did you learn about yourself from this situation?
Have you changed because of the experience?
Week 3
This week, you will write about preparing and conducting your survey interviews. You need to write at least 300 words.
The points and questions below will help you think and then write about the afternoon
Remember your experiences preparing the interview questions and describe any important successes or problems
Remember interviewing and describe interesting things that happened while you interviewed:
Did you need to change your questions so people could give you the answers you wanted, Why?
Was it easy for you to ask and get the answers? What difficulties did you have and how did you overcome them?
Think about the whole afternoon and evaluate it. What was it like for you?
In addition, reflect on how your group is working. What difficulties have you had and what have you doe to make sure you keep working as a group?
